Sir Bobby Robson – A true fighter

Sir Bobby Robson has passed away at the age of 76, having finally lost a long battle against cancer. The former England, Barcelona, Newcastle, PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon, FC Porto and Ipswich manager suffered cancer for  18 years, suffering five different bouts of the disease.

What an encouragement to all cancer patients out there. Sir Bobby is a true example of some one who never gave up fighting. This is a true loss for the footballing world which will be felt from Singapore to Spain.

It was never in doubt that Sir Bobby was a great man. As Roy Keane puts it best ‘ten minutes in his company was enough for me to see what a great man he was.’

RIP Sir Bobby.
